Many people still remember our Showroom on Lancaster St Carlisle as The Pagoda Nightclub during the 1980s and 90s. Scene of big hair styles, shoulder pads and Miami Vice rolled up jackets; many brief encounters and many more permanent friendships and relationships. The building structure pre-dates this and has huge Architectural interest since it is one of four similar constructions designed for Olivetti who used them to support and maintain their early computers. We have only found one mention of a similar building, Olivetti Dundee, when it was being considered for the Financial Times Architectural Awards in 1973.
